Ahhhhh......Fall

Don't you just love the bright blue sky as the backdrop for the yellow, orange and red leaves on the trees ? Fall is my absolute favorite season. Today is is the mid 60's and we had soccer and baseball to go to....nothing could be better than a day like today. Well, of course, if my girls weren't fighting....that is :) They just can't decide on the same thing to do so it's causing a bit of chaos. It's funny, though, I tell them to do their own thing for a bit and 2 minutes later they are right back together trying to get the other to do what they want to do. At first the fighting can be a bit irritating but then I think to myself atleast they WANT to be together. They might not be able to agree on the terms of their play but the WANT is there. And today.....I'm fine with that.

The problem with Girl Scouts....

My kids are only allowed to do one activity at a time. Now that soccer is over my two girls have decided that scouting is now their thing. Can I just say UGH? I am in no way making fun of those that are in scouting. It's a wonderful activity. It just doesn't do anything for me. Let's all be honest here....don't you sort of whine (quietly to yourself at night) when your child decides that the thing they are "into" is something that really doesn't excite you? I did this same whining when my kids decided to play soccer. I took them to every practice (whining...of course, quietly) and every game. We brought snacks....we DID the soccer thing. And now ? I love it. What a wonderful sport for kids to get into at a young age. Okay...but I'm off track. Back to scouting...... I was a sports girl. Volleyball was MY thing. My girls went to their first meeting last night. All the way...you guessed it...I was whining to my inner self. I was thinking of all the other ways I could spend the evening with my girls (hot chocolate? painting our nails? going to the bookstore?). We walked in and instantly my 6 yr old had a new best friend and my 8 yr old really enjoyed herself. Okay...I say to myself.....give it time. It might just turn out to be more than a giant playdate with snacks...

Today is the day...

Today is the day I start my blog. Do I have so much knowledge that people will flock? Probably not. Do I have so much to say that people will not be able to start their day without me? Probably not. But.....I can say that I have triplets that are turning 8, a 6 year old that cracks me up and a 3 month old that is bringing me back into the world of a mom that is now weighed down by nap schedules. It all takes some getting used to. I know there are moms out there that need a friendly word of encouragement, a gentle laugh or to ask a piece of advice. I can relate to the new mom that feels isolated in her own home with a small child that looks to her for all her/his needs. I can relate to the mom of multiples and also to the mom of "a singleton" (as my 6 yr old reminds me). Wait..... my baby is awake and so here ends my chatter.
